A Poem by Christie Moses

Flashlights in the darkness ©

There is a fluorescent light

hollowing my blood, and

a cave atop my skin

I ride shotgun on this road,

to every place

my demons have ever been

Belly deep, they play havoc with the

rain weeping on the city pavement;

shattered harsh

in the midnight street lamps,

and a bottle of whiskey as

dark cover---clouded knees

I’m not amiss amongst the grey here

Cross-legged on the gravel

Instead, I starve myself healthy in the

under-gut of all things quiet

Somewhere stark, this sorrow carves

deep strokes into the broken psyche of

a lost child, burnt desert scathes

like wildfire, and I’ll just twist here,

in the darkest angles of my mind;

you’ll search for things you’ll never find

About Christie Moses

“I have stood on great mountaintops and felt my immortality; I am one being of land and sea. There is no sound but my heart and wind expelled from countless souls filtered to the very breath of illusion. How you shift beside me; our separation is like a devastation into the still of unquiet and my soul burns from such disconnection. Tell me these messed sheets are not much like peaks and trees, where many souls wander and bring the breaking to my knees...”

mystical sojourn to Scotland
spiritually inspired poetry
Our 3rd Induction
I wrote this poem at the airport before embarking on a long voyage. I was observing and contemplating that we all live with a letting go in every moment.

What is a goodbye? ©

What is a goodbye?
Yellowed taxis, blackened limousines,
SUVs with the charred
Father, mother, or stranger
Who carries us to the departure,
The goodbye to what?

Leaving the moon,
I welcome the sun,
Always full, lighting
The horizon before
All appears,
Not as an apparition
Or vision,
But commonality
Of Truth.

About Wendy E. Slater

After a twenty-year hiatus from writing poetry, Wendy E. Slater composed 20 volumes of spiritually inspired poetry, which began in 2001 during a mystical sojourn to Scotland.
Her poetry reflects deeply on both the hidden and revealed relationship of nature, the cosmos, humanity and the healing of archetypes both esoteric and known, in the individual and collective psyche.
Her poetic formulas are both wisdom and method; a sharing of words that open doors for readers and invite them on their own spiritual journey of awakening and healing.
As founder and creator of TRADUKA, Slater has devoted her life to honing and distilling Traduka Wisdom into method and applications for the public. She combines her own experience and wisdom of self-healing with her unique blend of clinical background, education, training, hands-on healing, intuitive insight, chemical alchemy and healing poetry together, for unique solutions to healing the inner self.
She began working with clients at age 32 and as of 2018, have over 20 years of experience.

I am women
Hear me roar with the voice of the deepest within me
I am profound
Hear me speak with the knowledge of a people
That wisdom did not escape, nor did it pass us by
I am sensuality
Hear my whisper as I sashay through my life with the look of happiness
The lore of an exotic scent
Known only to the one that has captured my essence within their heart and soul
Movement in the art of sexuality
I am through poetry
That is my very presence
I am artistry through poetry
Hear the artistry through the vibe of my poetry
As I express what life has to offer me
And as I still travel this road unknown, to experience what's ahead
I am mother, daughter, wife and friend
Hear me
The nurturer, the care giver, the lover,
Companion and dream rider to the end of all that will be

Broken Glass
© by Donna Siggers

Life can never be enough in my eyes

A dream half lived, half felt, half achieved.

Identity ripped away during my prime

Not given or changed but thieved.
Broken Glass ©
Mad moments in time, that stop time

That change who you are and strive to be.

Left to feel incomplete, alone and absent

To feel desperation, a nobody.
Waking each day an effort, so hard

Falling deeper and deeper into a crevasse.

Stepping from day to day, anger building

As if I’m dancing on broken glass.
Time heals wounds, inside and out

So, I’ve been told – time will tell.

For now, I live within a darkness

That holds me within its spell.

R.J. Zarkani Poet Poetry eBook Paperback
Our 6th Induction

About R.J. Zarkani

Born in Iraq, Raghad Jabbar Zarkani escaped the war through poetry. She and her sister, Shahad, would eat watermelon in the hot summers of Iraq and take turns creating narratives that take them to other worlds. Young Raghad found herself creating fairy-tale-like worlds that only she and her sister knew of.
After 2003, Raghad's entire world changed. The war brought physical and emotional destruction to her village, Al-Kut, two hours south of Baghdad. During her daily walks to school, Raghad had to take alternative routes in the cold winter days to avoid the army's barricades. She wore extra warm clothes inside the school due to the broken glass windows. The random bombing seemed to nearly miss her, as if God had a hand in it. Her college dorm was held at gunpoint multiple times and her college was attacked and bombed throughout her stay.
The Iraq war had a strong influence that is evident throughout Raghad's writing. But, among the darkness of war, Raghad finds inspiration and hope. Raghad is now a Doctor of Pharmacy residing in the beautiful Tennessee nature where windows have glass. She is thankful for warm showers, electricity, running water and most of all, safety to step outside her house.

Why I wrote Words
I’m always amazed by how carelessly insults are thrown around. They are used as if they can’t wound the other person, but they can cut into our hearts. These stabs and cuts will last far longer than any physical wound can.

Words ©

Words may be used as torturous bane
To tear at hearts with terrible pain
Or softly whispered into an ear
To ease the mind of needless fear
Carefully decide which ones to dole
They make or break a person’s soul

I wrote this poem for my father to honor him on father's day one year. I had it attached to a solid wood board and gave it to him that year.

Remembering ©

Father's Day is for reminiscing about childhood memories.

It is a time for telling you, Daddy, how dear you are to me;

Remembering the love you gave all my growing years,

Knowing the love you give me now is just as dear to me.

You taught me so many things.

You were my knight in shining armor, till a new love came.

But no other love can ever take the place in my heart,

For the Love I have for thee.

You gave me life, a world filled with love and wonderful memories.

You were the best daddy a child could ever have.

Now that I've grown up, I must confess,

You're still the greatest daddy and always will be.

Thank you, Daddy, for so many happy memories

But, most of all, thank you for being a truly wonderful father,

And for the love you've always given me.

PLASTIC SURGEON ©

Written on 26 July 2016 ... about two months after my husband-to-be met. This one is two sided in that it also reflects what I found once I began meditating in earnest in my twenties. Meeting my fiance brought me back full circle to that discovery and depth of love.

PLASTIC SURGEON ©

Hidden, unseen

the scars on my heart

you healed

Better than any botox

my frown lines gone

smoothed away by you

Instead of a tummy tuck

you undid me at the seams

climbed inside my skin

Never had any choice

whether or no to let you in

impossible to refuse your scalpel

They say that

beauty lies

in the eye of the beholder

Well, my love

you’re the best surgeon

I’ve ever met

Put away your knife

take off your gloves

you’re already in my soul

Not just my lover

but also my best friend

my respect for you immense

The rest of my life

I intend to spend

growing your smile

My favourite hello

my hardest goodbye

my whole reason why

Our 10th Induction

About the Poet

Poetry walks the blurred line between life and love, stumbling to either side depending on which way the winds of creativity are blowing. "What You Should Have Seen In My Eyes" will blow through minds, hearts, and souls. It is life and love simplified with a unique poetic flare. It is what we live for and what we actually live through at the same time, as seen through the eyes of Craig Michael Lewis.

A poem by Amirah Al Wassif

before my death!©

before my death,
I would like to sit beside an innocent homeless girl
in front of one of the UNICEF banners
in our hungry wide street
talking together about the biscuits
and the magnificent toys and the ice cream

before my death,
I will try my best to make her
taste childhood’s flavors
and she will try her best
to draw a false smile on her face
and because her cheeks will be
a mix of rosy and dirty
I will convince myself that
she is very happy!

before my death,
I would like to kiss all the flowers
especially the lilacs
I will be able to toss my grief aside
hoping to find a supernatural sign
one of those upper signs
which touches us gently
one of those upper signs
which take our souls for a long fabulous walk for free

before my death,
I would like to laugh in a loud tone
because I will be close enough to the political posters
which will hang everywhere
and I will sing one last song
for love and freedom
and I will dedicate it to the lonely and the frightened
and the immigrants and the dreamers

before my death,
I would like to toss
the most creative jokes
among the boys and girls
and I will gather the most delicious fruits
sending them to those who used to plant them
but never tasted any!

before my death,
I would like to kiss the famine babies wide-eyed
and saying “sorry” in another way
I will say it like a poem
escaped from the bottom of my heart
and appears of itself
in no-words

before my death,
I will praise the woman who works in breaking rocks
who fights in the day
and comes down in the night
an extraordinary woman knows how
to struggle under the angry sun
an extraordinary woman knows
how to fold her begotten clothes
among the mess of rocks
an extraordinary woman knows
how to be a soldier in the battle
and a clown in the theatre at one time

before my death,
I will salute all the women
who work in breaking rocks
I will salute them with love and pity

before my death,
I would like to give
endless tickets
to the orphans around the world
and I will break my ego mirror
getting rid of my old grins
trying to find a true
smile similar to theirs

before my death,
I would like to share my food with a lost dog
in the corner of the road
or in the dirty narrow tavern

before my death,
I will learn how I must live!

Like an Eagle ©

İstanbul dons a large number of majestic forts
those structures from many an ancient history
may today not appear as powerful anymore
but the debris alone suffice to astound
the willing eye through a peek
at the haunting view of the mighty Bosphorus
together with the influential breaths
that numerous civilizations of the past
have generously left in its depths
i have not been there in a long while
only in an empirical sense that is
frequent visits of my fertile imagination
have otherwise sated my hunger and thirst
my longing for the dead who were left behind
and my cravings for the impeccable times
each of which was lived in harmony
amid a painstakingly caring love
i borrow an eagle’s eye on this special day
and perched atop one of the bastions, i begin to sway
palaces teahouses trolleys Bazaars cafés fishermen
rare carpet, Kilim and antiquities-selling ambitious shops
yachts one of a kind-mosques the famed Dolmabahçe Sarai
freighters speed boats Hovercrafts scenic jogging paths
do not interest me in the least. The eagle’s eye is a loan
of refined delicacy. So, i refuse to waste it for the mundane.
on the bottom of the Bosphorus all of a sudden
underneath a recent undercurrent, oh so sullen!
amid seagrass
i spot my brass
keychain of four distinctive keys
my elephant still carries on,
towing them heroically
its movable pretty trunk
waves at me ecstatically
i lead us all
to the astonishing Sinopian coasts
to my breathtakingly serene flat-sanctuary
i discover to my demise
it is no longer there . . .
only then do i recall my dream of this year
the one on the night of the 2nd month’s 14th
and . . .
my loaner eye weeps

About Hülya N. Yılmaz

Hülya N. Yılmaz …is a seasoned college instructor who views herself as a brutally slow-learning and therefore continually-suffering student of life. She finds consolation for such deficiency in creative writing. While the time hülya has dedicated to her academic career though spans over most of her life, the history of her literary work offers only a view over a modest number of years.

The literary language of her first choice is English, which is the second foreign language she has acquired; Turkish, her mother tongue follows in the second position. As for German – the first foreign language of her acquisition and the core element of her teaching objective, it comes in last. One other philosophers’ stone then reaches hülya at her freelance editor’s-desk, providing her with precious reading opportunities disguised as her clients’ manuscripts in different literary genres.

Trance, a collection of poems in English, German and Turkish (available from Inner Child Press, Ltd. and at Amazon) is hülya’s debut book of non-academic content. She hopes to edit and expand on this rather hastily compiled work of poetry of mostly personal nature some day (her haste, not her publisher’s). Throughout Trance, her own translations of her non-English poems appear in the book’s opposite pages. An Aegean Breeze of Peace (a publication of Inner Child Press, Ltd., also available at Amazon), which she has co-authored with Demetrios Trifiatis – a professor of Philosophy from Greece, is also a book of poetry. The Year of the Poet – now in its fourth year – is an international anthology to which hülya contributes with her poems every month, joining her Poetry Posse family, a large number of poets from various parts of the world.

Known by her family and within her closest friendship circle for her routine yearnings for opportune moments of time she can put on reserve outside the heavy demand on her daily schedule, responsibilities and commitments, hülya presently waits in patience (more or less) for a set of chances to begin to bring into completion her several writing projects.

Carry on ©

Carry On

Carry on I must do,
Empty without you;
When you died, life became askew,
Bereft of feeling, yet still blue;
This new role I stepped into,
Waters dark as a midnight hue;
As I searched for vessel or canoe,
Something to help me wade through;
My empty heart was my only view,
Sorrow filled me and I withdrew;
Looking upon your brother who,
Full of sadness and grief, too;
Looking into his eyes of cobalt blue,
My mind made up I knew what to do;
Enveloping him into my milieu,
Together we would get through.

About Mary L Schmidt
I grew up in a small Kansas (USA) town and I lived in more than one state since then. At this time, my husband and I split our time between Kansas and Colorado (we love the mountains and off road 4-wheeling). Traveling is one of our most favorite things to do and I always have a book or even three books that I read, in the same week. Books were really my thing. It seemed like every time I turned around I was obtaining a new library card due to the current one being stamped complete. Diving into a good book made any day perfect and you would be surprised at the number of books I read over and over. I drew paper dolls and clothes for them, and using watercolor as my medium when painting scenes, especially flowers. I continued with art in high school exploring a wide variety of arts and I loved it! The creative side of me loves to be an amateur, shutter-bug, and we actually have an online art gallery. In college I went into the sciences of all things and received a Bachelor's degree in the Science of Nursing. My nursing career was highly successful and I hung up my nursing hat in December 2012.
She has written more than 16 books with five more in various stages of production.

The following poem was written in 2008, while attending the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and studying English literature, creating writing, poetry and the African Diaspora. It was written as a response to a poetry challenge request. The members of a poetry site started a line of poems explaining their identity in poetic form. This is the poem I wrote. It’s written as a sonnet in the alliteration form and style. They really loved it.

A Poem About the Poet ©

Jumping Jupiter, a jubilant sundae lover, and just a jewel.

Oppressed De Liberator, optimistically captivating; oratorical.

Saintly passionate, succulent salmon sampler; sweetheart.

Exquisitely enchanting, enchantingly amatorious; éclat.

Playful, painstakingly passionate, pajama wearer, patient.

Handsomely helpful handyman, harmonizer of happiness.

So sensationally super; Sagittarius son of John Spence.

Pleasantly personable, and matriarch Maud Spence’s son.

Enabling, exquisite, eloquent, evolving and enterprising.

Naturally nice, no nonsense, and a nutritional nobleman.

Carrot consumer, constant comrade and cold-war veteran.

Heavenly enlightened, and just an elegant eggnog taster.

Sweet as syrup, shining armor off the shelf; savoir-faire.

Red-blooded poetry connoisseur and radioactively lovable!

The following poem I wrote in my home Kathmandu, Nepal. I think the words and letters are the voices of invisible imaginations. To make the world happier I created them.

Haikus About Love
Let’s love together,
The last breath remains, come here,
Who knows what will be?

More than I believe,
I can’t give you anything,
I love you so much.

Let us go out please,
We will enjoy near and far,
No one disturbs us.

Kiss me hold me please,
Hold me with your hands with love,
I am in your love.

Lover, I love you,
I have no words to praise you,
I can promise you.

I’m a beggar man,
I can’t give you anything,
Besides my true love.

I am in a love,
Mode are you also or not,
Answer politely.

Let’s take joy in our,
Life let’s forget our mistakes,
Let’s make our present.

Indie Poets Wall of Fame™ It's a poets hall of fame

Statement from
The Whole World News™

The Indie Poets Wall of Fame™
was established by
The Whole World News™
to connect readers with Poets having poetry worthy of reading. Some of our poets are not famous yet. Because of our experience in the literary field watching poets and helping them reach their goal we judged some worthy for our wall of fame because they're showing outstanding writing qualities that will one day get them to the bestsellers list.

Poets don't be shy.

Just click now & pay the small Induction Consideration fee or read more info. If you are inducted you will see your picture on our Indie Poets Wall of Fame within a month. If you are not inducted just consider (while you are a wonderful poet) we feel you are not ready for our wall of fame.
